July 4th scrappin' weekend
I haven't posted anything, but I have been scrapping. Let me fill up a few inches with the layouts I did for a July 4th weekend challenge at Scrap N Art. I ended up coming in 3rd place (I completed the third most challenges). Here are my entries minus one which is being published in their next e-zine!
Challenge #6: scrap in a different size than you usually do. I'm a 12X12 scrapper, but I did this in 8.5 X 11.
Everything from Danielle Young's Defunct Destiny (Oscraps)

Challenge #21: scrap a monochromatic layout. (This will be the title page for my our day at MGM on our Disney trip.)
Unless noted, everything from I'm a Dreamer kit by Britt-ish Designs (Scrap Matters).
Lomo photo action by Addicted 2 Design.
Photo wrap (recolored) from Rock On! by Vicki Stegall (Oscraps)
"Chip + Dale" word art by labdogs42
Template by Karen Maggie (March theme album challenge on ScrapbookGraphics' blog)

Challenge #1: scrap at least five photos. (This layout is about my hometown. When I found out my parents were moving, I realized how much the town meant to me. I went out and took pictures of some favorite places, including the home I grew up in. I didn't get the wording right in the journalling...I have to go back and fix it before I print this layout.)
Template is TaylorMade Designs Uncluttered Collage Vol. 1
Action Packed Photo Actions by TaylorMade Designs (washed out color)
Paper from TaylorMade Designs Alternative Paper Pack

Challenge #41: scrap something/someone you don't usually scrap. (I had this photo from a trip I took to Washington on business...with no family. I always overlook these photos when I scrap.)
Photo is blended into a paper from TaylorMade Designs' Casually Blending In Paper Pack (Oscraps).
Font is Pegsanna (Hallmark Card Studio)

Challenge #19: Layout using only b&w (photo could be color).
Template is All Inclusive Template - The Heart by TaylorMade Designs (Oscraps)

Challenge #23: use repetition of an element. Here I used a butterfly patterned paper and then used the same blue butterfly element five times to add interest.
Paper and butterfly from Sue Cummings' From My Notebook-Butterfly Friends
Frame is from Sue Cummings' From My Notebook {Vintage Frames} (Oscraps)
Font is LD Youngster

Challenge #34: use only circular elements.
Everything is from Little Dreamer Designs' Collaborative Kit Good Times
Based off of a Janet Phillips' All Stitched Up Template
Font is LD Speckled (I rasterized the text and added the color)

Challenge #5: scrap a non-July 4th layout using red, white and blue. (Maury in his Davey Crockett hat playing with a broomstick (?) at a Christmas get together last year.)
Papers I made
Ribbons are by Misy Cato from her All American kit
Font is LD Dizzy

Challenge #17: use hand drawn embellishments.
Hand drawn elements are from French Country Elements by Julia Makotinsky (Little Dreamer Designs)
Paper by TaylorMade Designs from Casually Blending In (Oscraps)
Font is Scrap Hap'nen

Challenge #24: use lots of bling!
Everything is from Danielle Young's Drama Queen (Oscraps) except the border bling at the top from Betsy Tuma's Pop Tart (Plain Digital Wrapper)

Challenge #9: Create a 15 minute layout. The only way this was possible was a great template (by Karen Maggie at ScrapbookGraphics on their blog) and a wonderful paper pack (Loveable by Michelle Coleman at Little Dreamer Designs). I just pulled up 7 papers, clipped the papers to the template and added a photo I loved.
