What Next?

I'm trying to decide what to work on next.

1) A running themed kit-For a June Mega Kit being put together by SOTB designers, I made this:

I thought I could "run" with this idea for my own separate offering. I am a runner and this has personal appeal to me. Does it appeal to you?

2) A princess kit-One of my all-time favorite movies is The Princess Bride. This kit would be in a pale blue color scheme inspired by Buttercup's gown at the end of the movie. Here's the preliminary swatch:

The kit would have a crown, some gems, and some lace. Interested in seeing Princess Buttercup? (Followed later by Dread Pirate Roberts or, perhaps, Farmboy?)

3) A masculine kit for Father's Day-Here I will start with the pale peach and pale yellow argyles from my All Boxed Up Paper Pack.

Then, I'll add some denim, khaki, oxford cloth and see where it goes from there.

Please leave me a comment and let me know which of these you think I should work on next. The sooner I get something developed, the sooner a related freebie will be available.

Anyone out there?

I'm still working on Primrose Path. Last night, I decided to split it into two different mini kits. Here are the previews as they stand right now. More will be added to each kit. The purple kit includes a caps only alpha with a matching bead on each letter (like the P's shown in the preview).

Click on either preview for larger images.
If anyone is reading, please leave me a comment to let me know what you think of the kits so far. And, I love to name my colors, so having the colors called just "purple" and "green" is not going to fly with me. Any ideas for color names?

When these kits go into the store, I will offer them separately and together. The combined kit will go on sale the first Thursday after they hit the store, for one day only, at 50% off. In addition, I will have a freebie to coordinate with the kits for one week starting sometime that same debut week.

got lizzie?

Last fall, we took the kids to a pumpkin patch...that you ride a train to get to. It was just the four of us and it had been a wonderful time. On the train on the way back, I tried to take a picture of the whole family myself. Kind of missed my goal. Maury is only half there and Lizzie is really just a suggestion of herself in the corner.

Spice freebie issues-new link

There was some sort of issue with the originally posted You Send It link to the Spice freebie I posted on Thursday. I updated the freebie post for this revised link. I apologize for the inconvenience. I believe it may have to do with the changes being made at You Send It. Hopefully this new link will work.

Enjoy the Sunset

Using my Spice kit, I did this layout with one of many pictures I have of the sun setting.

Let's give it up for Jenn!

Jenn Trippetti is a friend of mine. She and I know each other from an online bulletin board. Our initial connection? She and I each have a child born in July 1999. Now, that connection is the tiniest thread in a friendship of great value to me.

Jenn Trippetti is a great digital scrapbooking designer. A great one. Her attention to detail is amazing and her work is stunning. Every time she puts a new kit out, there is something new and different in it. Unique items. Beautiful finishes. Eye catching color combinations.

Yesterday, one of Jenn's kits was Kit of the Day on Melissa's Digi Pick of the Day. The honored kit? Jenn's My Life: Explore kit, seen below.

Pretty spiffy, huh?

Bravo, Jenn! You deserve the public recognition. It's good to see nice things happen to great people.

In progress: Primrose Path

So, that flower from the other day...is a primrose. However, I grew up calling it a buttercup. Oh, the memories of smashing the flower in my sister's face and covering her with pollen! How could I not use this as inspiration for a kit?

I went out Saturday and took some pictures of a patch of them that I had seen from the interstate on my way to work the day before. From those, I've made the papers below.

I'm working on elements now, so any ideas for things that would be good with this would be appreciated. Leave me a comment.

Name this flower

This is the inspiration for the next (probably) kit I work on. I know what I called this flower growing up. Do you know it? What do you think it is? Lots of pollen in the middle. Very pale pink. Really grows in a way that I think of it as a weed here in Alabama. I guess i should call it a wildflower to be more polite. I think it's beautiful...more on why I like it after I hear from you. Comments, please.

Progress on Spice

This is the most recent preview for the kit. I am just going to call it Spice. Sometimes simple is best.

I'm really happy with the alpha for this. It is a caps only alpha, intended to be used as a pretty start to journalling. Kind of like something out of a fairy tale book, as Jenn so accurately pegged the feel of it.

I have some more work to do on the kit before it is complete. So, if anyone is reading this and has ideas for elements they think this needs, I would love for you to leave them for me in comments.
