Scraplifting again

It's another week, so there is another scraplift challenge at SOTB. This is my creation for this go round and I think my lift is a little more precise than the last:

I actually tried to complete this challenge earlier in the week, but got bogged down with a photo effect and a paper I was trying to make myself. I scrapped that project and went to bed.

Last night, I just sat down and this came pretty quickly. Betsy Tuma's Jardin de Fleur is so fun to work with, I literally just opened the folder with the papers and clicked three to use without really looking to see what they were. Originally, I had a different paper in the background and decided instead to go with white space. Then, I went and found the one paper that wasn't in my layout already that was part of the journalling strips element (neatly sewn together like that in the kit) and made it look like the one pattern was on one side and the other on the flip of the "folded" paper.

Trying to learn

I started paper scrapping over 10 years ago. My sister discovered scrapping and gave me a great scrapbook with pictures from all of the wedding showers I had had. She got married 6 months later and I made her one. If you look at the album I made for her, you would swear someone threw up stickers on several of the pages...that is just how terrible I was with adding them to a page. I never really got good at it, but I did start scrapping mainly by using idea books to scraplift from. The sticker ruined pages pretty much ended when I did that.

Which brings me to today. I see so many cute layouts with an assortment of embellishments peeking out here and there...but I wouldn't have a clue how to accomplish that look. Tracy has a technique challenge at SOTB right now, though, that made me give it a try.

Click here for details. I used Betsy Tuma's Pop Tart kit and that made it pretty easy because she has lots of fun things to play with in there. Plus, I practically copied Tracy's sample layout element cluster exactly.

I guess I'm still a scraplifting kind of a gal.

A few pages more

I did a few more pages over the last 24 hours. First up, a scraplift challenge at Scrap Outside the Box led to this layout:

Credits here (that is a beautiful kit from Betsy Tuma)and also a link to the scraplifted layout. I took a lot of liberty with that scraplift, to be honest, by the time it was all finished.

Then, this layout:

I promise, the wording is readable on the full size (and full resolution) version. Credits here.

Last, a bright layout using Jenn's Yin and Yang kit and one of Tracy Rivera's awesome templates (she really should make more...they are really nice):

That one will face the race page in my scrapbook. I think the blues will go well together. Credits here. (I'm having some login issues at SBB right now, but after I try the gallery three times, I get in every time. Not sure if you would have the same issue or not, but thought I would mention it.)

St. Patty's Day

THIS FREEBIE HAS BEEN PULLED DOWN...

Pulling out one of my old kits to give you for the green holiday we have this weekend:

Click here to download. Offer expires when the link expires (14 days or 200 downloads). Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I want to continue to offer things to those who stop by, but when I see a lot more downloads than I see thank you's....well....

I'm a runner

I don't know if any of my readers here are also readers of my other blog, but I am a runner. Just started two years ago and it's been an amazing experience to pick up this at my age (36 when I started). I enjoy it, particularly racing. I don't race that often and it's not about the competition with other runners (I will never win anything in a race, I promise you that). What I like is the internal horsepower that I get only on a race day. Last night, I scrapped this page about one of my 5K's.

Credits here. The template can be found here. Thought I would give you the link to that because I couldn't link to it at the gallery I directed you to.

More Digitalwear scrapping

Jenn's new stuff is just really awesome and I have two more pages to share using items from her Digitalwear collection. The first is the facing layout to the Beauty and the Beast layout I shared earlier and you can see the credits here:

The next is quite possibly the layout I'm most proud of so far and the credits for it are here:

I've never done a curled photo before and I just love the background effect I got with the photo of football practice used as an overlay for the green paper.

Beauty & the Beast

I was scrapping with some of Jenn's great stuff a couple of days ago, including some of her new Digitalwear collection, and thought I would share the layout with you. My kids, dressed up in their favorite birthday gifts a couple of years ago:
