Saved

After I made that draft invitation to Lizzie's party shown in the last post, I got to thinking that maybe the photo wasn't right for it. I showed it to my mother-in-law who suggested that maybe if I could get the lollipop stick out of the photo it would be better. As it so happened, Amanda Taylor had just put a tutorial on removing unwanted objects on her blog. I knew about the clone tool but her tut really helped me understand it better. And, I didn't know about the healing brush at all! So, here are the results (original, lollipop removed and photo blended to remove most of the background, final blend into a pink background):

Invitation

I was working on a challenge at Oscraps and actually came up with Lizzie's birthday party invites from it. I had this picture of Lizzie after she went to Club Libby Lu and since her party will be there, I used it on the invite. The challenge was to be inspired by something in the media, so I looked up the Bratz movie posters and found the perfect inspiration:

Then using Danielle Young's Drama Queen kit (again, how perfect is that??), I came up with this:

There is also a swirl in that from Miss Mint's Sweet Easter Kit and the font is, as usual, Century Gothic.

There is another movie poster for the movie that has four girls on it. I can totally see the layouts for her party coming from that!

Silly Daddy

Oscraps had a great twist on a scraplift challenge. There was a layout which they turned into a template. I took the template and moved things around and came up with this:

It's a (Not So) Small World

I did this for a challenge at a Disney board, but I can't post it there until I've posted 10 posts. I think I'll just share it here, then.

Paper, border with all the holes, and the frame from Gypsy Couture's Grungeville (at Plain Digital Wrapper)

Ribbon from Vicki Stegall's Wrap Me Up! {Grunge} :: Three (at Oscraps)

I made the mouse ears myself. Fonts are Janie, Cluff and LD Walt. I would link up to the products like I usually do, but I'm a little tired, so I'm not. All one or two of my readers won't mind, now will you ;-)

Challenges, challenges, challenges

I have done too many pages this week...that will never be printed for a book. They were fun to do, though, and were all for various challenges at Oscraps.

First, an altered:

Then, a scraplift:

Then, four more for TaylorMade Design's Designer Spotlight:

My kiddos

Oscraps has a weekly scraplift challenge, and I love scraplifting. It is so like how I always paper scrapped...with an idea book in front of me. The layout we were to lift from is shown here. And, here's my take on it:

I used Sweet Genevieve's ColorSplash line for the layout (poetry, papers and buttons). I made the "kiddos" word art myself to match.
